My dear friend Eric Klein and I started a facebook conversation about the newly failed Fyre Festival, and the realization that it wasn’t the 1% who really got burned in this situation, but the upper middle class young people who wanted to pretend to be 1% and bought barely affordable tickets for what turned out to be a huge bummer. If you haven’t heard about the Fyre Festival yet, you can get a taste of the situation in this Variety article on the topic. We decided to talk on the phone and record a podcast about our thoughts. The reality of Eric and I talking is that it tends to meander through the vast landscape of pop culture, and our curiosities around the trappings of the market, and how people respond to it.

We have decided this is the kick off to a series of podcasts we will do, where we talk about the things that catch our attention.
