Rebekah Lovejoy is an independent scholar who has worked in technology, media communications, undergraduate education, and therapy. Her studies include sexuality and gender, popular culture, Jungian theory, mythology, emerging culture, and utopian studies. She holds two Bachelors degrees in Film Studies emphasizing history and theory, and Art Studio, emphasizing painting technique, an MA in Clinical Psychology with a specialty in Somatic Psychology, an MA in Mythological Studies with Archetypal Psychology and a PhD in Mythological Studies emphasizing Archetypal Psychology, which includes topics in Religious Studies, Literature, Philosophy, Psychology, Media Studies, Folklore, and Methodology. Dr. Lovejoy’s doctoral dissertation was a qualitative field study merging an ethnography with psychology to develop a psychographic deconstruction of American utopian thinking from the 1960s and 70s and the transmission of culture and values to the children raised within the American counterculture. This added the additional topics of Culture, Gender, Political Science, Social Justice Movements, Sociology, American Studies, Postmodern Theory, Utopian Studies, and Popular Culture analysis to her academic experience. Dr. Lovejoy taught in the interdisciplinary department at Southern New Hampshire University, instructing undergraduates in critical thinking through analysis of popular culture, technology, and global society. She also spent many years developing large scale Fortune 500 websites such as Cisco Systems and Film and Television companies like Sony, NBC, and The American Film Institute. Many of these projects were conceived for a global market. Her experience in technology, communications, marketing, design, and global business, rounds out an awareness of global society.
